What if my child wants to meet someone they have met in a chat room?
Children and teenagers should NEVER arrange to meet anyone they have met online without a responsible adult present.
Explain that it is good to keep your online friends online. If your child insists on meeting someone, they must always take along a responsible adult. Explain that this is nothing to do with snooping on them, it's just basic safety advice.
It is worth advising your child that on occasion children have met people from the Internet who have then tried to harm them.
